Christmas is one of the most magical times of the year – a time for family, love and sharing. It’s long been tradition to decorate your home in a festive style during the holiday season, so we’ve put together a list of decor ideas to give you a little bit more inspiration

Who said you only need one wreath on the door?

We love it when people are a bit quirky with their Christmas decorating! Show the neighbours and friends that you’re fully in the festive spirit by placing two wreaths on your front door (one under the other). Not only will it look great, it will also make your front door stand out from the crowd.

Hang candy canes

Candy Canes aren’t just good to hang on the tree! It can look super cute to hang them on a string in front of a window or dangling on their own festive ribbon. Just make sure they are at a height away from kids or the family pet though.

Use ornaments all over your home

Like Candy Canes, ornaments aren’t just to be hung on the Christmas tree! Place baubles together as a feature on your dining table or hang decorations from the mantle or window frames. Also, why not decorate those smaller indoor plants? Think outside the box with your decorations to ensure your whole home is covered with Christmas cheer.

Christmas stockings

Now some of you may be thinking “Christmas stockings? this is not a new idea!” and we completely agree! We decided to include them though as they aren’t anywhere near as popular as they used to be, and we’d love to see a resurgence. Hang these in your main living area and if you want to go the extra step, you can even get them personalised with names or initials – what a great idea for the kids!

Experiment with different colours

Don’t think to be festive you have to stick to the standard red, green and white! There are many more modern interpretations of festive styles including natural hues, silver and gold. But at the end of the day, Christmas is personal to you and your family, so use whichever colours get you in the holiday mood.

Fairy Lights

There is nothing better than the twinkle of fairy lights around the home at Christmas – these can be relatively inexpensively from major retailers and can be placed around windows, along mantles, around smaller indoor plants, etc just to give that extra festive flavour around the home.
