Celebration Homes’ recognises apprentice efforts

Celebration Homes recently hosted its seventh annual ‘Apprentice Awards Function’ to celebrate the efforts and congratulate the achievements of all apprentices and their hosts throughout 2011.

31 apprentices and associated site trainers, along with their supervisors, managers and sponsors, gathered to enjoy a fun afternoon of awards, lawn bowls, food and refreshments at the Cambridge Bowls Club.

Alex Page, a third year apprentice Bricklayer, won the ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award for his strong work ethic, commitment and outstanding attitude and received a trophy and a Dewalt Radio in recognition of his efforts.

The ‘Most Improved Apprentice’ award went to Daniel Niendieker. Daniel is a mature aged 2nd year apprentice Bricklayer who suffers from a permanent hearing impairment yet does not let this impact his strong commitment or dedication to his work.

Daniel was awarded a trophy and a $200 Colli Timber and Hardware Gift voucher in recognition of his efforts.

Andy Smith and Brent Hutchison, both qualified Bricklayers for Celebration Homes were awarded the ‘Host Appreciation’ awards for their strong commitment to training apprentices and too received Dewalt Radio’s as recognition of their efforts.

Colli Timber and Hardware were recognised on the day for their strong contribution as a major sponsor to the Celebration Homes Apprentice scheme.

Colli Timber and Hardware donated prizes for the awards, supply every new apprentice with a ‘Start Up and Safety Kit’ for each trade, and have donated funds for the high visibility shirts that all apprentices and Celebration Homes Sub Contractors wear while on site.

Celebration Homes Building Manager Steve Hancock said, “Today’s apprentices will be building tomorrows homes and it is vital that we encourage and nurture their skills and celebrate their achievements to ensure quality craftsmanship within the building industry.”

“I would like to congratulate each of our award winners for their achievements and thank all of our apprentices, their hosts, and our sponsors for their outstanding efforts and contributions throughout 2011.”

Celebration Homes offers Apprentice opportunities in 10 different building trades as part of the ABN Group Training program.
